Young friends on thrilling roller coaster ride. Young women and men having fun at amusement park.

Have a Blast at Valleyfair Amusement Park

Opening day for Valleyfair is May 11th, so if you love thrill rides, live entertainment, and getting wet, you’ll want to spend at least one day at the park.

The best news is, it’s only a 30-minute drive from 4Marq Apartments. You can invest in a season pass and have unlimited fun through the end of October.

Here’s what you need to know before you go:

Tickets

A single-day ticket at the gate will cost $55. However, there are lots of ways to save. Purchasing your ticket online saves a significant amount of money. Before June 30th, everyone pays the “kids price” ($35). You can also save by going to the park after 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Perhaps the biggest single-day savings comes with an all-inclusive ticket. For $110, you get single day admission with a Fast Lane pass, parking, all day dining, and a souvenir refillable cup. That’s a savings of about $75!

Rides

Valleyfair has wooden and inverted roller coasters, as well as Northern Lights, a family-style roller coaster that spins as you coast back and forth on 300 feet of track at over 40 miles per hour.

Delirious is the most recent thrill ride to open; it’s similar to the fair ride commonly known as the Ring of Fire. Delirious completes 10 inversions in less than a minute and is seven stories high.

Relive your childhood on vintage rides like the Scrambler, the railroad, the swings, and Monster. They also have a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, and a carousel. You don’t have to be a kid to experience the nostalgia of these fun rides!

Water Park

Admission to Soak City is included with your regular park ticket. The water park opens daily at 11 a.m. from May 25 until September 2. Closing times range from 5-8 p.m., so check the website for the date you’re planning on going.

There are several thrilling water slides including Breakers Pipeline. You’ll stand on a deck 65 feet in the air and wait for the floor to drop before you plunge through tunnels and curves. If you are feeling especially daring,
try Breakers Plunge which is a 90-foot vertical drop on an open-air slide!

Not feeling so brave? There are several other slides that are exciting but not terrifying. The lazy river is perfect for everyone and the wave pool is a fantastic place to cool off.

Food

There are a variety of choices for dining throughout the park. Choose from pizza, hot dogs, chicken, tacos, and more. You’ll also recognize vendors such as Subway, Panda Express, Auntie Annie’s, and Caribou Coffee. Chickie and Pete’s is ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar. You can also find fair favorites such as cotton candy, roasted corn on the cob, and funnel cakes!

Save on food by purchasing a dining plan online. For $14.29 plus tax, you can choose an entree, side, and a drink at a participating restaurant.

But perhaps the best deal is the all-day dining plan. For $34.99 plus tax, you can get an entree and a side every 90 minutes. Note that it doesn’t include a drink, but for $11.99 you can get a refillable souvenir cup.

Season Pass

With its close proximity to 4Marq, it makes sense to buy a season pass. For $89 you can buy a Gold Pass which includes admission to the park and parking every day the park is open in 2019. You also get admission to ValleySCARE when the park is decorated for Halloween.

Valleyfair is just one of the exciting attractions near your apartment home at 4Marq. If you’re looking for a new place to call home in Minneapolis, contact us for a tour of our community and amenities.
