Beer flight of craft beers at outdoor beer tasting event

Minneapolis Breweries with Beer Gardens and To-Go Options

Minneapolis is home to some of the best patios in the Midwest, especially when it comes to our local brewery scene. These breweries offer a hip spot to enjoy a cold one, city views, lawn games, and trivia nights.

4Marq Apartments┬áhas put together a list of four local brewery patios worth checking out this summer. And if you’re a homebody, they also offer to-go options.

Bauhaus Brew Labs

Located in the Northeast neighborhood of Minneapolis, Bauhaus Brew Labs offers a unique atmosphere. Bauhaus features vibrant artwork, string lights, and picnic tables to gather with friends and well-behaved dogs.

Bauhaus Brew Labs sits between some of Northeast’s many rustic industrial buildings, and their patio has hosted some pretty fun events. Bingo, anyone? They’re currently offering delivery and curbside pickup for those who want to take their brews to-go.

Surly Brewing Company

Near the University of Minnesota campus, you’ll find Surly Brewing. This 50,000 square-foot facility has an entire brewhouse, two levels of dining, massive outdoor space that often hosts events, a company store, and their own Festival Field concert venue. You can spend your entire day eating their infamous Surly pizza on their patio or beer garden. While Surly provides a fun, light atmosphere for guests, they also give back to the community, often hosting volunteering events. Curbside pickup is available!

Utepils

On the banks of Bassett Creek in the northwestern part of Minneapolis sits Utepils, a locally owned and award-winning brewery. This is an ideal spot to ride your bike to as it sits on the Luce Line Extension bike trail and hosts a different food truck daily. Their cozy beer garden is near one of Bassett Creek’s small waterfalls, and you’ll often find a live musician crooning by their fire pit. They have beer to-go, too!

Sociable Cider Werks

Located in the Northeast’s art district, this brewery has a resident food truck and brews some incredible ciders for those who aren’t beer-people. Dogs and game-playing welcome. Enjoy the summer breeze on their patio and have a taste of their extensive cider list. Perhaps you could make it into a brewery-hopping day as this sits near Bauhaus and many other lively establishments in Northeast. Order crowlers to-go or support their business by purchasing some of their cool apparel.

Visiting one, if not all, of these breweries should be the first thing on your to-do list this summer. Tasty beer, sun, and good company are what Minneapolis summers are all about. Hop on your bike and go on a beer tour or enjoy these brews from the comfort of your own home. If you’re looking for a delicious non-alcoholic brew, check out one of these Minneapolis coffee houses instead. 4Marq Apartments has you covered! Contact us today to explore the 4Marq community.
