Play Board Games at These Minneapolis Restaurants

On a chilly evening, there’s nothing better than challenging friends to game board fun. If this sounds good to you, head to one of these Minneapolis restaurants where you can also enjoy a hearty meal and ice-cold drinks:

Chatterbox Pub

Called the best neighborhood bar in Minneapolis, Chatterbox is where everyone knows your name. The flavor-filled menu surprises newcomers, and the pub serves some of the best dishes in town. Chatterbox is always full of laughter, and the board game library features everything from Yahtzee to Apples to Apples. Tuesdays bring open mic night, while Wednesdays offer a lively round of bingo. For dinner, enjoy a pint of Chit Chat Belgian Ale with the macaroni and cheese or lager-battered chicken strips.

Spitz Mediterranean Street Food

Spitz Mediterranean is where the streets of Berlin meet California fresh. It’s a place to hang out and live in the moment, and the vibrant setting features unique murals, wood accents, and chalkboard menus. Games include Battleship, Jenga, and Connect 4, and the restaurant invites everyone to pull up a chair and stay awhile. Menu offerings include street cart doners, Berliner bowls, and doquitos.

Hot Plate

A local favorite since 2005, Hot Plate is an eclectic ’70s diner with a one-of-a-kind setting. It takes visitors back in time, and the paintings and figurines have been conversation starters for years. The restaurant draws a crowd morning, noon, and night, and games include Perfection, Trouble, and Knockout. The restaurant serves breakfast all day, with choices including Greek scrambles, pumpkin buckwheat waffles, and Nutella pancakes (a house specialty).
