Summer is starting to pick up here in Minneapolis and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get out and enjoy the warm weather. Here’s a look at a few upcoming summer festivals in Minneapolis:
Surly Cinema & Summer of Sound
Join Surly Brewing on Malcolm Avenue Southeast for a weekly summer movie throughout June and July. Come out each Monday for the classics, such as Jurassic Park and Jaws, as well as The Big Lebowski and Ghostbusters. The movies will be shown in Surly’s Beer Garden, so bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. This is a free event open to the public.
Also taking place throughout the summer is the Surly Summer of Sound. On Tuesdays, come out to this free event featuring a wide variety of unique musicians. Artists like Jana Shortal, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, and Dessa & Lazerbeak will perform while you enjoy Surly’s collection of drinks.
On July 14th, head over to the Lake Monster Brewing Company in St. Paul for the Vegan Invasion Food Festival. Unlimited samples of beer, wine, cold brew, kombucha, and more are available with a ticket purchase, as well as access to live entertainment while you browse the various plant-based businesses and vendors. You can purchase your tickets at the link above.
FLOW: Northside Arts Crawl
Finally, join the Twin Cities art community at the FLOW Northside Arts Crawl on W. Broadway on July 27th. This year’s theme is Collective Joy and will feature the work of dancers, visual artists, and musicians. There will be both indoor and outdoor activities available.
