Three Outdoor Fall Activities to do in Minneapolis

The Twin Cities have the most beautiful fall landscapes of all the Midwest. We are lucky enough to experience all four seasons and the festive activities that go along with them. Take advantage of the crisp air and vibrant colors of the changing leaves by throwing on a cozy sweater and a mask, and leave your Minneapolis apartments to enjoy the beautiful weather. Here are three outdoor fall activities to enjoy in Minneapolis!

Be sure to call ahead to apple orchards as their harvest can change quickly. A lot of orchards provide additional entertainment such as corn mazes and pumpkin picking, like Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake. Aamodt’s Apple Farm in Stillwater also provides some fresh apple picking as well as their locally produced hard cider. Oh, and when you’re all picked-out, bake this delicious Apple Squares recipe.

Fall’s cool, enlivening weather is ideal for those who love to spend their time outdoors. Head to the Chain of Lake’s Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun) Lake Harriet, and Lake of Isles all provide views of the Minneapolis skyline, wildlife, and colorful foliage. Theodore Wirth Regional Park has hiking and biking trails and a beautiful wildflower garden and bird sanctuary. Last but not least, Minneapolis is home to its very own 53-foot waterfall at Minnehaha Regional Park, a stunning area to explore.

There are numerous outdoor farmers markets in the Twin City’s area that provide local and fresh produce. Mask up and check out Northeast Farmers Market or Mill City Farmers Market for some delicious veggies. Once you’ve stocked up on goodies, it’s time to get cookin’. Open your windows, turn on Hocus Pocus, and get-to-making this hearty vegetable soup from scratch.

‘Tis the season for hot coffee and cinnamon-spiced drinks, so don’t forget to grab a coffee before you head on your next adventure. It’ll keep you cozy while you’re having fun at your outdoor fall activities in Minneapolis.
